We hope that your child(ren) is as excited to perform again as the MAB faculty and Board members are to watch them at the year-end showcase!
Students’ last rehearsal for the showcase is this Sunday, June 13, at their regular scheduled time at the studio.
Please read this message carefully, as it includes important details about the show:
Date and Place
The showcase will be held on Saturday, June 19, at The Carpenter Recreation Area of White Clay Creek State Park. The address is 880 New London Road, Newark, DE.
Showtime is 3:00 pm, but all students must arrive completely dressed and ready for the performance by 12:30 pm. Given the nature of the venue, there are no dressing rooms for the dancers, so it is very important that they arrive completely ready. Students are asked to arrive early because Ms. Sandra would like to run through the show before the performance.
Girls should wear pink tights with no runs, a solid black leotard, a pink skirt (levels Pre-Ballet, Beginner 1, Beginner 2, and Intermediate 1) or black skirt (levels Intermediate 2 and Advanced), clean pink ballet shoes (no holes), and a plain black mask. Their hair should be in a neat bun at the crown of their head, and they should wear light make-up. Also, nail polish, jewelry, and hair scrunchies are not permitted for the show.
Boys should wear a form-fitting solid white tee shirt, black leggings, solid black socks, black ballet shoes (no holes), and a plain black mask. Their hair should be off their face.
White Clay Creek State Park charges a $4 fee for Delaware registered vehicles and an $8 fee for out-of-state vehicles to enter the park. The fee is per vehicle, not per person.
Seating is on the grass, so please remember to bring a blanket or chairs.
MAB is not selling tickets for this event. Instead, we ask families to consider a donation to MAB to help cover the cost of the stage and pavilion rental and other performance-related expenses. Donations can be made on-site the day of the show.
After the show, we invite students and their guests to join us for refreshments at the pavilion.
Bathrooms, a playground, and the pavilion are located near the performance space.
Things to Remember
Because the dancers will be performing outdoors, please ensure that your child brings a labeled water bottle and sunscreen. Sunscreen should also be applied prior to arrival.
