Outreach to the community is an important part of MAB's mission. We are eager to share the beauty of ballet with our community through special performances and programs that touch audiences throughout the region, from preschoolers to seniors.

  • Community Performances

  • Girl Scout Badge Program

  • Arts in Education

Mid-Atlantic Ballet frequently performs at community events such as Newark's Community Day.

Free performances are also held in public libraries, community centers, and schools. If you are interested in scheduling an outreach appearance for your organization or event, please contact MAB.

Dear Patrick,

Thank you for a joyful afternoon of Ballet Act II, Nutcracker.  The costumes were exquisite and so, too, the dancers.  You have given our senior community an awesome gift during the holidays and we thank you for your amazing talents, kindness, hard work and dedication to our community.  What a truly lucky day when Dolores introduced you to our community and me, for it is a joy to know you and consequently to be able to share the world of ballet with everyone here because of your generosity and spirit.

We had an amazing turnout present today with other New Castle County organizations bringing their senior communities to attend.  (They receive the Downs Cultural Center Schedules every other month with an open invitation to attend all programs, no cost to their senior communities.)  We had 100 people present for your show today and the attendance included Ingleside Retirement Apartments, Bissell, Cokesbury, Highfield Homes also known as the Masonic Home, Luther Tower Residents, Parkview, Somerford and the Gardens at White Chapel.  This was an opportunity they did not want to miss and one that most of them cannot provide.  Thank you for your gift of dance to so many more.

Wishing you a blessed holiday season and new year,

Alfreda Clinton

Almost 600 Girl Scouts from the Newark area have already earned their Dance Badge through our special program that combines tickets to our December performance at UD's Mitchell Hall with a free Dance Badge Workshop at the MAB studio in January.  This year we are adding a Spring Workshop in conjunction with our new original ballet Ever After, Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th.

The Saturday March 24 performance of Ever After will have a special 12:30 children's matinee for $10.  The Dance Badge Workshop will be held on Saturday April 21th from 3-5pm at our Studios on 104 East Main Street.

Patrick's Preschool Roadshow

We understand that young children just want to get up and move! Our popular preschool outreach program meets this need while providing youngsters with an introduction to the art of ballet. Following a brief introductory performance by MAB Company members, Artistic Director Patrick Korstange models basic positions, lets the kids examine pointe shoes and costume pieces, and leads the group in creative movement games. We come to you, and best of all, it's free! To schedule a program for your school, contact MAB.
