MAB's Summer Intensive programs are ideal for ballet students, who are seeking to improve their strength and technique, with guest faculty from thoughout the US and beyond.  Includes pointe, variations, jazz,
and partnering classes.

BALLET INTENSIVE I – July 14-25,2008
A two week full day camp for intermediate and advanced dancers, age 9 and over (MAB Level D and up). Daily activities include: two ballet classes and two-three related dance classes with resident and guest faculty, lunch time & rest time. Advanced dancers not attending additional summer training programs in levels F-I must take at least a week of Intnsive I if planning to take Intensive II. Dancers may be auditioning for the MAB performing companies and learning repertoire for the season during Intensive I.
Monday - Friday, 9am-4:00pm $225/one week, $428 both weeks

BALLET INTENSIVE II – July 28-August 15
A three week full day camp for advanced dancers ages 11+ (by audition) and MAB dancers in levels F,G,H and I. Daily activities include: two ballet clases and two - three related dance classes with resident and guest faculty, lunch time & rest time. Dancers will be auditioning for the MAB performing companies and learning repertoire for the season during Intensive II.
Monday - Friday, 9am-4:30pm.
Register for one, two or all three weeks.
$295 for 1 week, $575 for 2 weeks, $795 for 3 weeks

GENERAL INFORMATION:


Intensive I and Intensive II students are asked to stay the entire day.  Parents should notify Ms. STN if their child needs to be picked-up early.

LUNCH
Students age ten and under should bring their own lunch.  Students eleven and older may bring their lunch or walk to purchase lunch on Main Street.
A permission slip/waiver must be on file at MAB.
A microwave and refrigerator are available for student use.  Vending is also available for purchase of snacks.

CLASSES
Students will be evaluated every day during the program to ensure proper class level placement. Intermediate and advanced level students will
have 4-5 dance related classes each day.  Class offerings include ballet, jazz, modern, prepointe/pointe, variations, Pilates, stretch, dance history, dance vocabulary, understanding correction, music theory, stage craft and more.

DRESS CODE
Ladies- Black leotard of any style (may wear a color leotard on Friday only), convertible pink tights, pink ballet and pointe shoes, black jazz shoes, hair in bun.
Gentlemen- Plain white fitted t-shirt, convertible black tights, white socks and ballet shoes. All dance apparel should be labeled with student's name. MAB is not responsible for lost items.

STUDIO POLICIES
Students ten years of age and younger, who are attending MAB's Summer Intensives, will not be allowed to leave the premises, except to have a supervised lunch outside the studio (weather permitting).  Students ages eleven and older may choose to walk to lunch on Main St. with parental consent. A permission slip/waiver will need to be on file at MAB.

Students authorized to leave the premises must first notify Ms. STN, and will be required to sign out of the building.  All students are expected to follow studio rules of conduct at all times!

TUITION
A nonrefundable deposit of $50 per week of Intensive is due at the time of enrollment.   Tuition is non-refundable, except in the case of medical disability verified by a physician.  

WHAT STUDENTS SHOULD BRING TO INTENSIVE
Lunch, water bottle, deodorant, dance apparel, change for vending, beach towel, notebook, pen, sunscreen, sunglasses, neat appearance and a positive attitude.

HOUSING

Housing for non-resident students is available on a limited basis for an addition $125 per week. You must contact MAB by June 1st if you would like to stay with a host family.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION

Parents needing to contact their child at MAB should call: (302) 266-6362. If a student should become ill,
or sustain an injury, every effort will be made to contact the parents via the phone numbers provided on the student's registration form. Please be sure this information is filled out on the registration form.

DIRECTIONS
MAB is located in a spacious 5500 sq. foot facility in the 100 block of East Main Street, Newark. To access the entrance to MAB, turn right into the Newark Parking Lot #3, immediately past the traffic light at East Main and Academy Streets.  MAB is the mural-covered building on the right side of the parking lot. There is a 10-minute grace period for drop off and pick up. Parking validations are available at 25¢ per half hour.
