Dance is an expression of the soul. It conveys joy and sadness, love and hate, anger and compassion. Every dance is a unique act of personal or collective expression.

Patrick's Tip of the Month

Everything should go through a position.  Clean up your transitions so that every movement could be a clear picture of a classical ballet position.  Ballet is not one trick into the next, into the next.  The transitions should be just as beautiful as the movements themselves.  Sloppy transitions effect your technique in negative ways and incourage bad habits.  Point through the whole foot.  Pointing is not isolated to the toes - you must point from the ankle, and the arch and the ball of the foot through the toes.  If done properly your technique will improve and you will have beautiful feet to show for it.  Ladies in pointe shoes must work to appear pointed inside the shoe.  Work your feet with intention when warming up at the barre - use every opportunuty to improve your technique.
